Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is an Mexican American journalist. She is currently working as a sportscaster at ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been since when she was nine years old. This skill helped her to get her first position at Univision, Miami. She was able to work alongside national producers on shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. In St. Petersburg, she was then employed by the CBS station to work as the sports reporter. Her move to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on the trafficking of drugs and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico Border, she worked as reporter for news for KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5 pm, an anchor for the news channel on English at 9 pm and the news anchor was on until 10pm, before returning back to channel Spanish channel. In addition, she was used on occasion as a weather and sport anchor. Then she became anchor and reporter on Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given more responsibility. She reported on all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor. The show was commissioned as a anchor of the sports program by Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. It was the same role for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo on UniMas Network. Antonietta Collin's parents originally hail from Veracruz Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22, 1985. She's older than her sister. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and moved to Miami. The couple divorced shortly after and her mother got married to one of the naval architects called Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. Her residence was with her family in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer and was provided with the opportunity of a job. Antonietta, a high-school senior with an idea of what she would like her life to look like, traveled to Mount Union University in order to find out if the school suited her. She discovered that she enjoyed the university, and the university provided the degree she was looking for. After finishing high school, she decided to attend the University and major in Media Studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU in which she is a member. They had a very close connection. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his love of journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
